What a tangle of colours! This is how you can conjure a coloured image from black and white without using any pencil or paint.
How to use?
Look at the seemingly black and white picture on the wall through the circular viewfinder! Then rotate the ring!
We created the image from cellophane which optical attribute is the double fracture. With certain skilfulness and selection one can create such an image that if lit from behind and looking through the polar filter we may see it in wonderful colours.
This is caused by the complex optical phenomenon of double fracture. If we alter the plane of the light’s polarisation or the plane of the viewfinder’s polar filter then the colours will change too.
